Sabahan youth Wilson Ng “immortalised” the greatest basketball player #Kobe Bryant via huge mural painting at the basketball court at Taman Layang-Layang in Luyang.
The American National Basketball Association shooting guard stunned the world when the heartbreaking news of himself and the daughter died in a helicopter crash recently.
Wilson told #Borneoecho that his team had taken about three days to complete the art dubbed as “MAMBA FOREVER MURAL” without getting any funding from anyone.
The artist also said that the mural could probably be his personal largest piece so far.

In Wilson’s instagram @wilsonnws7, he said:
“This art might not last forever but the inspiration and motivation from him, I’ll carry forever.
“How do you create something that lasts forever? You inspire others one after another and they inspire others to do the same,” he said, adding that it was a long-time wish to paint on a basketball court and Kobe had inspired him to go for it.
Wilson, too, also left sweet notes for Kobe.
“If you’re looking from above, this is for you (and) your beautiful daughter Gianna and all the fans and people inspired by your legacy.”

Sabah Youth and Sports Minister awed with the artwork.
Wilson did mention that when his team was working on the project under the hot sun, they were afraid of being caught (maybe for vandalism?”
But, it turned out that the Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Ginger Phoong, who is also Luyang assemblyman, was in awe of the youth’s work.

Phoong, in his social media, said:
“Amazing and lovely #mambaforever mural art by a very talented Sabahan youth Wilson Ng!
“Thanks Wilson for choosing Luyang! It’s in line with my aspiration to make Luyang a dynamic, youthful and lovely community for all!
“I’m sure Wilson and I do hope this piece would continually inspire people about Kobe’s spirit”
