Covid-19: Sabah government appreciates armed forces

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor is appreciative of the commitment and initiative of the Malaysian Armed Forces in combating the Covid-19 pandemic together with the State Government.

Fifth Division Infantry Commander, Major General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan said the Chief Minister also commended the armed forces move to set up a military Field Hospital in Tawau apart from ensuring Sabah’s security.

The Chief Minister made the remarks when receiving the first official visit from the State’s military top brass since he took over the State’s Government helm at his office in the State Administrative Centre (PPNS) here on Tuesday.

Hafizuddeain who is the Appointed Military Commander for Sabah, also briefed the Chief Minister on the role of the Fifth Division including securing the country’s border through Op Benteng.

The Fifth Division were also assisting government agencies in the fight against the Corona Virus through Op Penawar.

On hand was Fifth Division Base Chief of Staff, Colonel Shamsuri Haji Noordin.
