KUALA LUMPUR: World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) is making a return as a Mega Vaccination Administration Centre (PPV WTCKL).
This time it is for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Booster.
It is in line with the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s (MOH) vision to speed up the administration of the third dose of vaccine.
Chief Operating Officer of WTCKL, Fauzy Wahab, said “Our operating hours are from 8.30am to 9.00pm daily starting from January 15th until March 15th, 2022.
“Only AstraZeneca vaccines will be provided here to the public at 9,000 doses daily.
“There will be three healthcare organisers (HCOs) involved in the mega vaccination programme here, namely BookDoc, BP Healthcare and U.N.I Klinik.”
He added vaccination is by appointment only through the MySejahtera application or short message service (SMS) notification as walk-ins are no longer allowed, as told by the Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin, during a press conference on January 6th, 2022.
Vaccine recipients are advised to bring their own pens to fill in the consent form as a collective effort to minimize physical contact from sharing pens at the vaccination centre.
“Priority lanes are set up in the centre for OKU individuals and senior citizens.
“There will be a Calm Room for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder and a medical room especially for medical emergencies at the PPV,” add Fauzy.
Helpdesk counters will be available next to WTCKL’s main entrance near CIMB Bank to provide immediate on-site assistance to the public.
“Coming back as a PPV is one of the ways that we want to show the people and government that we are ready to assist again, as we did during the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme when we gave out 1.3 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to 645,000 people, making it the PPV with the most number of shots given in the country.” said the Group Managing Director of World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim.
“As a centre that is consistently dedicated to giving back to the community, we are committed to offering the highest standard of service in getting everyone boosted against COVID-19.
“Previously, WTCKL has successfully served as one of the major PPVs during the administration of COVID-19 vaccines back in May to October 2021.
“Although this time we will only cater to 9,000 doses daily, our centre/facility can accommodate right up to 18,000 vaccinees daily, just like we did last time.
“My point is we are ever ready to increase to such capacity should the government wish to do so.”
