KUALA LUMPUR: Sepanggar member of parliament Mustapha Sakmud fully supports the recommendation of the Yang Di Pertuan Agong’s Order related to issues related to Malaysian Agreement 1963.
The Deputy Human Resources minister is referring to the Royal Decree of His Majesty the Yang Di Pertuan Agong who has specifically touched the resolution of issues regarding the demands of the State Governments of Sabah and Sarawak regarding the implementation MA63.
Among those mentioned are the transfer of gas supply regulatory powers to the Sabah Government, recognizing the Public Works Department of Sabah and Sarawak, improving the level of special grants and empowering the economy throughout the country, especially Sabah and Sarawak.
The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong also emphasised in His Majesty’s order in strengthening the administration of law and the development of Court Complexes in Sabah and Sarawak.
His Majesty also added how important quality basic infrastructure and rural access connections deserve special attention.
“Sepanggar Parliament which consists of Urban and Rural areas really needs basic infrastructure and road network. The water crisis and floods that hit almost every week did hinder the lives of the majority of people in Sepanggar.
“As an initial initiative, the Parliament office has heard briefings from the Ministries and Departments involved.
“However, for now we are not satisfied with the implementation status of the projects that are currently being implemented.
“As a next step, we request that a Coordination Meeting be held between the members of Parliament and the State Assembly so that we can both help each other in finding short and long-term solutions to overcome the water crisis, traffic congestion and flash floods in the Kota Kinabalu City Hall area, especially the Sepanggar Parliament.”
“Hopefully this concerted effort will realize the Vision and Mission of Sabah Maju Jaya and the Idea of a Malaysia Madani.”
