AirAsia continues to offer FlySiswa

AirAsia is happy to keep supporting the FLYsiswa program, which helps public university students get cheaper domestic flights. This commitment comes after the Ministry of Transport Malaysia brought back the program.

AirAsia has more routes this year, like flights between Penang and Kuching, and Penang and Kota Kinabalu since March. Now, students can choose from 47 routes, connecting places across Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia, and within East Malaysia.

To get the subsidy, students just need to follow a few steps on the AirAsia website. They click the ‘Redeem Now’ button at airasia.com/aa/flysiswa and enter the voucher number during payment.

Paul Carroll, AirAsia’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We’re happy to keep supporting the government’s FLYsiswa program. In 2023, over 90% of the 24,730 students who used the voucher flew with us. We believe in making flying affordable for everyone, especially students, and we’re proud to help them get home.”

This deal is for all students at public universities in Malaysia, including polytechnics and community colleges under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), matriculation colleges, and Institutes of Teacher Education Malaysia under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).

Students should check if they qualify based on the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia’s rules. If they do, they get a RM300 voucher. Those who don’t meet the criteria can ask MOHE or MOE through their schools. The RM300 voucher works like a credit that they can use for multiple flights until they use up the subsidized value.

Students can apply for FLYsiswa until November 30, 2024. They can use their voucher right after getting it until December 31, 2024, and they can travel until December 31, 2025. If their flight costs less than RM300, they keep the remaining credit for future flights.
